Master's research

I am investigating polyp bailout in the Mediterranean coral Oculina pagatonica. Polyp bailout is a stress response, which also proposed as an asexual reproduction strategy that involves detachment of polyps from the colony as a means of escaping unfavorable conditions. Polyps have the ability to disperse, and they may colonize, recruit and establish a new settlement. My research findings may shed light on this phenomenon in Oculina pagatonica and may help in the future in the restoration efforts of coral reefs.
